10 am – Native Bees of Colorado – Ryan Bartlett

Ryan is your man to explain everything about native bees in Colorado. He loves the 900+ native bees already living here. You will get a first class education in the very important, not to be forgotten, Native Pollinators. Ryan always has great attendance at all of his talks! Don’t miss this one!!

11:30 am – Planting for Pollinators – Ray Story

Ray is going to talk about planting for pollinators, Organic Gardening, Japenese Beetles,hummingbirds, and good vs bad insects in your garden. Ray is the president of the Highlands Beekeepers Association as well as serving the Colorado Beekeepers Association.

1 pm & 2 pm – Make Your Own Beeswax Chapstick – Lisa Bailey and Ray Story

Lisa Bailey and Ray Story will lead a workshop on making beeswax chapstick. The wax is from Ray’s hives in Lakewood. Everyone will get to make 10 tubes of organic beeswax chapstick to take home. Learn first hand what equipment, materials and “how to’s” you will need to make chapstick in your own kitchen! The class cost is $25. ( The retail cost of these chapsticks is $3-$5!!) Each class is limited to 12 students…sign up at the market or on Eventbrite.
